Hi, I’m Dr. David Anifowose (Dr. David) from Houston, Texas and I am so excited to be part of Thrive Dental and Orthodontics!
I completed my undergraduate studies at Texas A&M University in College station. I went to A&M, not just for education, but to watch the greatest team in the world, the Aggies, play football.
After college, I completed my dental education at the University of Houston. As you can tell I love Texas and have never strayed very far from this great state.
For me, dentistry is an art that requires the full undivided attention of a dentist to achieve proper esthetics, form, and function for the patient. I can’t tell you how great it feels when a patient tells me they can chew properly or that they are now excited to smile whereas before they would avoid it at all costs.

I knew early on I wanted to be in dentistry as I could see the relationship between oral health and systemic health. I got very passionate about serving the community in Houston and volunteered with many organizations. I put together several health fairs where thousands of underprivileged community members were able to get the comprehensive oral care they needed.
I’m a huge believer in the CANI (constant and never-ending improvement) philosophy and that’s why I take so many extra continuing education courses. This allows me to grow as a dentist and deliver exceptional care for the patients I treat at Thrive.
Outside of dentistry, I enjoy spending quality time with my family, playing basketball, and staying active. It’s important for me to stay physically strong so that I can have a long career at Thrive.
I also play the saxophone, guitar and recently started playing piano so if you hear some noises in the office I may be trying to hone my skills!

After finishing his Orthodontic studies, Dr. Nathan continued rigorous training to become a Diplomate of Orthodontics, an honor obtained by only a few select Orthodontists in the country. His tenacious work ethic allows him to deliver amazing results for his patients and his joy and enthusiasm is contagious to his team and his patients alike.
During his free time, Dr. Nathan enjoys learning and discovering new interests, having great conversation over a delicious meal, and he never misses an opportunity to visit his dear family and hometown friends in Canada.
From childhood, Dr. Nathan was a gifted scholar, a talented athlete, and a strong leader. He was MVP and captain of the Men’s Basketball Team at the University of Alberta and Grant MacEwan College, and was named Two-time Academic All-Canadian, one of the highest awards a university athlete can receive.
After graduating with honors, he went on to the University of Southern California School of Dentistry where he met his wife, Christine. There, he continued to achieve academic success and scored in the top four percent in the nation on the Dental Board Exam, making him a top candidate for Orthodontic Speciality.
During his time at USC, Dr. Nathan served in third world countries like Honduras, where he and his dental team provided dental care to underprivileged communities. He also co-founded the Student Professionalism and Ethics Club at USC, where students are provided a platform to discuss ways to improve the ethics and professionalism in Dentistry.

Dr. Nathan is from a small town in Alberta, Canada, where it snows almost half of the year, and the remaining months are taken over by mosquitoes.
Dr. Nathan graduated from USC Dental School with honors and was presented the Outstanding Orthodontic Achievement Award and the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Award for outstanding academic achievement. He then married Christine, the love of his life.
Dr. Nathan then continued at USC to pursue his dream of becoming an Orthodontic Specliast. There, he also obtained his Masters in Science through conducting research on the latest Orthodontic innovations. Dr. Nathan was chosen by his Orthodontic program to represent USC Orthodontics and travel to Japan and Brazil to connect with and share ideas with his international peers.

Howdy Y’all! I am Alekhya Patagarla DDS MHA, an artist by nature and dentist by profession. In molding the masterpiece of my life chapters, I had to use many bright colors of excellence as well as overcome the muted colors of challenge. Although initially, my career in dentistry started by chance and not by choice, I have come to realize it is a perfect fit and my developing passion is stronger with each new experience I gain.
I started my early education at a missionary school that helped me build a self-disciplined and focused approach to life. I finished my Bachelor’s in Dental Surgery (BDS) in India and worked for 5 years before moving to the United States. I did my Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) at Western Kentucky University (WKU), Kentucky where I was recognized for my active participation in community development and welfare programs while serving as a graduate assistant on full scholarship. I went on to graduate on the Dean's list at the prestigious University of Southern California (USC-Go Trojans) with a DDS degree (Doctor of Dental Surgery).
I grew up with my grandparents who taught me a lot about being grateful and giving back to society. I am a passionate human being with skills to serve patients of all ages. My patients call me “Dr. I-LIKE-YA” because I give them comfort and add a tinge of humor to their anxiety towards dentistry. I am a very happy person and believe in the fact that every human has a right to stay healthy and happy.
Fun facts about me, if I am not working I will be playing ping pong with my husband or painting on canvas. I am a professional Indian classical dancer and be ready to dance any form any time 24X7.
